my story
I was born in Galați, an industrial city on the Danube in Romania.
Yet from a young age I was drawn to nature.
Some of my earliest memories are of summers spent at my grandparents’ house in the countryside, where the only lights at night were the stars.
At eighteen I moved to Italy.
After living in Rome for a few years, I chose the green hills of Umbria places that still remind me of those quiet, star filled nights of my childhood.
Today I am a landscape photographer and astrophotographer,
drawn to the contrast between earth and the night sky.
My work moves between two worlds:
aerial landscapes captured from above during the day,
and astrophotography after dark, with a particular focus on the Milky Way.
I look for unique perspectives, natural light and moments
that reveal the beauty of our planet
from the details of the landscape
to the vastness of the cosmos.
BEFORE THE CAMERA, THERE IS THE MOMENT.
THE SILENCE.
THE DARKNESS.
THE STARS ABOVE.
I BELIEVE THAT PHOTOGRAPHY SHOULD BEGIN WITH EXPERIENCE — WITH TAKING THE TIME TO STOP AND ADMIRE THE NIGHT SKY BEFORE TRYING TO CAPTURE IT.
MY IMAGES ARE AN ATTEMPT TO PRESERVE THAT FEELING: THE SENSE OF WONDER, THE STILLNESS, AND THE IMMENSITY OF LOOKING UP INTO THE COSMOS.
I DON'T JUST WANT YOU TO SEE THE NIGHT SKY.
I WANT YOU TO FEEL like you where there.
